Are you having trouble keeping time under control? Can't find a TARDIS, Delorean, or Guardian Of Forever? Don't Panic! All you need to do is take a look at "Time Trap" by Alec MacKenzie. I'm HowToPhil and this is another Look At A Book Review.

(Title Card slide in and then slide in review section)

Alec MacKenzie is a key leader in Time Management and has written several books on the subject as well as hosting as a guest speaker, and working as a time management consultant.

The Time Trap, originally published in 1972, is currently in it's 4th edition. I've read through the 3rd edition, published in 1997, and find the content to be. . . well. . . timeless. The first quarter of the book covers all of the tactics you'll need to conquer your unruly time management problems. The rest of the book is dedicated to helping you solve almost every time wasting situation you could encounter. Alec takes a narrative approach to teaching you how to deal with time management and time wasters, providing example stories with solutions built into those stories. Also at the end of each chapter there is a test to rate your effectiveness on the given solution to time management problems, you're expected to rate yourself while you read the book and then again a few months later to measure your new effectiveness.

Now for the ratings!

(ratings time title card)

On an informational level I'd have to give this book a 5 out of 5. If you're hoping to wrangle your time management issues this is a prime book on the subject.

On a entertainment level. . . well. . . I'd have to give it 2.5 out of 5 stars. The stories are nice and do help cement the training into memory, but they are not exactly riveting. I had to put the book down a few times in order to really make it through.

Overall it's a very useful read and functions as part Time Management text book, part work book. Put it on your reading list and you just may find afterwards that you have gained several hours a day to get through the rest of your reading list.

I hope you've enjoyed this review and remember, HowToPhil has the skill.

Hello I'm HowToPhil and today I'm going to show you how to make a stylish hat out of a furoshiki (a furoshiki is a square of lightweight cloth, usually silk or a silk like synthetic). You can create this hat with a simple knot tied four times. When you're done you'll be able to wear a hat, just like this, in any color you have a square of cloth - with absolutely no sewing skills required.

For starters you'll need to know how to tie a simple overhand knot. Don't panic! You've been tying this knot since you were a child. It's the knot that everyone thinks of when they think of a knot.

Here it is in this clip (clip of an overhand knot being tied in a scarf).

Now that you know how to tie an overhand knot (you already did didn't you), it's just a matter of tying four overhand knots loosely - remember the key is to tie the knots loosely - in the corners of the furoshiki.

Watch this clip closely (clip of hands tying four overhand knots in the corners of a furoshiki).

Now that you have your furoshiki tied into the four loose knot form it's a simple matter of stretching the hat over your head to get the correct fit, like this. Once your hat is fitted well to your head simply remove it, tighten the knots like so, (maybe another close up clip) and then the hat will maintain it's shape until you untie those knots. Place the hat back on your head, I prefer to tuck the dangling corners in, but you can leave them out.

In just minute and with a single knot tied four times you have made a new and stylish furoshiki hat!

I hope you have enjoyed this. Remember, HowToPhil has the skill.

Hello, I'm HowToPhil and today I'm going to show you how to add line returns to cells in OpenOffice or LibreOffice Calc. Adding a line return in a cell allows you to have multiple lines of text in one cell, which can be very useful for column and row labels.

The process is fairly simple, but not necessarily something that someone would come to on their own. First make sure that the cursor (the blinking line you see here) is located in the cell you'd like to add a line return to and not in the input field at the top of the screen. Once you are sure you have the cursor in the correct location key in your first line of text, then press the ctrl key and while still holding the ctrl key press the return or enter key on your keyboard and then release both keys. This will add a new line. You can now type your next line of text in the cell. Repeat this as many times as you need lines of text in the cell. When done either hit only the enter key (without holding the ctrl key down) or click into a different cell using your mouse.

I hope this has helped you and remember - HowToPhil has the skill.

A quick tip on a very effective persuasion technique.

Join thousands of youtubers who already know this persuasion technique - Quick Tip

Hello, I'm HowToPhil and this is a Quick Tip.

{Quick tip title card}

The technique that convinced you to watch this video is known as the band-wagon or herd effect. Essentially it is the tendency of human beings to base their actions off of the actions of those around them and those that they consider similar to them.

The fact that you are watching this video is proof of the effectiveness of this technique.

You are here because you are a youtuber and want to know the secret that your fellow youtubers know and take actions similar to their actions. Even if it was only on a subconcious level, it is this drive to be a part of the social system that convinced you to watch this video.

I hope this has helped you, and remember, HowToPhil has the skill.

A quick review of the book, Tickle My Tush, by Dr Sadie Allison

You can buy "Tickle My Tush" and read more reviews on Amazon

Script:

What's got tips for beginners, friendly illustrations, and a return to the basics for the gung-ho "back door love making" enthusiast? One tiny tome - Tickle My Tush by Dr Sadie Allison!

I'm HowToPhil, and this is another Look At A Book

{Look at a book title card}

Dr Sadie Allison is a doctor of human sexuality, a member of the American Association of Sex Educators Counselors and therapists, and an author who has been writing and publishing books on human sexuality for over a decade.

The book, Tickle My Tush, covers a lot of ground in less than 200 pages. It guides the beginner through the start of their rumptacios romps and brings the attention of those who have been there andd one that back to the basics. It's full of information - most of which I can't share here on my Youtube channel. However I have provided a link to the book on Amazon in teh description of this video and you can read more about it there.

Dr Allison maintains a lighthearted humor, even if the jokes are a little corny, throughout the book, which can help the more timid readers get past their inhibitions. Overall it's a fun little fast read, that reminds you to take it slow and not too seriously every step of the way.

{rating time title card}

Now for the ratings.

On an informational level I'd give this book 4 out of 5 stars. While it's really a great read for the budding enthusiast, it's a little too basic for those with experience.

On a entertainment level, I'm afraid I can only give Dr Allison 3 out of 5 stars. The jokes are not bad, but they're not graat either. It's more likely you'll smirk and maybe giggle a few times rather than have any gut busting moments.

If you have a chance to pick it up I'd recommend that you do. It's not bad and it'll pass a couple of hours, even if you decide not to take your explorations any further than reading the book.

Thank you for watching. I hope you enjoyed this Look At A Book. See you next time, and remember HowToPhil has the skill.
